It’s nearly 1 AM outside, yet here in my universe, the clock reads Tram O’Clock. I am allowed to.

Just learned that on long-haul flights airline policies normally prohibit the pilots from eating identical meals to avoid the shared risk of food poisoning.

So far, as far as the UK's 'big three' mobile networks and their flanker MVNO brands go, EE is the only one without. While O2 has giffgaff, and VodafoneThree has VOXI, Smarty, and TalkMobile, EE appears to be so busy staring at their premium ARPU figures that it is overlooking a clear market opportunity to capture customers across all value segments by introducing a trusted, catchily-branded, in-house value MVNO that I'm sure many customers are crying out for. And if it was up to me (I know it isn't, right? 😉), given the current landscape of EE MVNOs, the logical move would be for them to try and acquire a brand like 1pMobile (which, by the looks of it, already operates on EE's core network), rebrand it, slap a new coat of paint on that relic of a website (no offence folks, but honestly...), and Bob's your uncle.

The BlackBerry force is strong with this one. Guided by it, a company called Clicks Technology has gone full circle and brought that oh so familiar physical keyboard vibe right into the present day. Its new Communicator is not trying to beat your iPhone at being an iPhone, no sir. Instead, it is pitching itself as the second phone you might actually want to pull out of your pocket more often than your Apple or Android behemoth, if only for that hit of aesthetic and tactile nirvana. Whether a $499 hit of nostalgia is a sane purchase, however, is a question best left to your bank account and your inner 2008 self.

giffgaff are rethinking their plans and asking members for some input, here's my 2 pence:

I just wish we could go back to one tier of plans, like in the good old days before the labyrinth of Pay As You Go, Monthly Rolling, and Good Contracts. One tier, clear and simple. Perhaps offer discounts for those willing to pay for a chunk of months (3? 6? 12? 18? 😬) upfront; the more months paid for in advance, the bigger the discount. Show the £6 and £8 plans some love, for heaven's sake. How about a talk-and-text-no-data plan for, say, £3 per month?
